Sabrina Starnaman researches socially-engaged literature, particularly Progressive Era (1880-1930) American texts about women’s activism, urbanism, and disability that explores how activists remediated exploitative labor practices, racism, and poverty. Her work brings the voices of overlooked writers, particularly women writers, back into the public consciousness. This article weaves a thread between two commissions, historically through Virginia Woolf, technologically by computational juxtaposition, as well as poetically in the viewer’s experience through a speculative remix.
